As an office whose mission it is to empower others to lead the sustainability transformation, our partnerships are invaluable to us. Our campus partners are fellow leaders and change-makers. They ensure that our work reaches every corner of Wake Forest University — from updating and improving building efficiency to co-sponsoring speaker series and campus-wide events. We are grateful for the care and commitment they put into their work and the ways they rise to the occasion, making Wake Forest a more sustainable place to live, work, and play.

Our Partners:

Dedicated team members in Facilities & Campus Services work tirelessly to make energy-efficient updates to our campus buildings, facilitate our waste reduction and recycling initiatives, and care for our beloved campus trees. They are key partners in much of the work we do.

Environmental sustainability is a fundamental part of the Deacon Dining mission, guiding how they operate. They are passionately focused on reducing the environmental impact within their operations — focusing on bold, inspiring dishes that encourage plant-forward plates from third-party verified sources.

The Pro Humanitate Institute (PHI) is an academic center focused on connecting Wake Forest’s academic mission to the needs of our community. PHI provides resources and support for students, faculty, staff, and members of the broader community seeking to realize the values implied by the University’s motto, Pro Humanitate.

The Campus Kitchen is a volunteer led food recycling program. Participants fight food insecurity in Winston-Salem by working closely with partner agencies to redistribute food donations from The Fresh Food Company and other partners. Leftover produce from regular Campus Garden harvests is taken to The Campus Kitchen to redistribute to community partners in need.

The Office of Service and Social Action facilitates opportunities for students to connect to the community, serve others, and explore social justice issues. Through these experiences, students develop into engaged, reflective, and knowledgeable change agents in the global community.

Volunteer Service Corps is a student run organization dedicated to furthering the University’s motto of Pro Humanitate by engaging students, faculty, and staff in meaningful volunteer service.
