13 Days of Celebrating the Earth: April 16
The Piedmont Earth Day Fair was ranked as one of the top 20 Spring Festivals in North Carolina by the Winston-Salem Journal, for good reason. Join the celebration on Saturday, April 16.
Piedmont Earth Day Fair
When: 10:00am-5:00pm
Where: Dixie Classic Fairgrounds, Education Building
It’s a Planet Party! The sixth annual Piedmont Earth Day Fair will be held at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds in Winston-Salem. Admission is free. Parking is free. Please enter the coliseum parking lots off University Parkway. Carpooling is encouraged and a free bike valet will be available. Because of the threat of severe weather, the event will be held inside the Education Building, adjacent to the Fairgrounds.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to meet the free Campus Kitchen shuttle van at the Benson traffic circle every half hour from 11:00am -3:30pm to ride over to the fair.

Demonstrations:
The following twenty minute, in-depth demonstrations will be conducted on the Demo Deck during the Piedmont Earth Day Fair. Please plan your visit around the topics that interest you the most.

- 11:30: Bluebirds for Beginners
- 12:00: Encouraging Butterflies and Hummingbirds to your Landscape
- 12:30: Organic Vegetable Gardening
- 1:00: Harvesting Your Vegetable Garden
- 1:30: Organic Pesticides for Homeowners
- 2:00: Community Gardening
- 2:30: The Tax Benefits and Economic Advantages of Renewable Energy
- 3:00: Composting
