The fall semester has started and the Campus Garden is open! As our visitors increase, the Office of Sustainability is looking to recruit six students to act as our Connect & Cultivate Leaders in the Garden. Connect & Cultivate volunteer hours are held three days a week in the Campus Garden and C&C Leaders are responsible for running one day of volunteer hours each week.

Students looking to develop their leadership skills and further their involvement in the Campus Garden are encouraged to apply! All leaders will be thoroughly trained in the Campus Garden before sessions begin, though prior experience is welcome.

Connect & Cultivate Leaders will be assigned to teams of two plus a Campus Garden Intern. Each team will host a recurring volunteer session in the Campus Garden either on Tuesday or Thursday from 5-6pm, or from 3-4pm on Sunday. C&C volunteers make a 7 week commitment in the fall with the opportunity to continue during spring semester. Leaders will be responsible for welcoming volunteers to the Campus Garden, explaining and ensuring safety protocols are followed, providing volunteers with the necessary tools and instructions to weed and cultivate effectively, and ensuring tools are returned to storage.

The WFU Campus Garden is a sustainability learning space that engages participants in regenerative agricultural practices and sustainability dialogue. Connect & Cultivate is a volunteer opportunity designed specifically to help students, faculty, and staff connect with one another and the environment.

To be considered for a Connect & Cultivate leadership position, apply by 11:59pm on September 8 by filling out our form. Connect & Cultivate Leaders will be decided on September 12 and their training will begin on September 16.
