Welcome Sarah Rodgers, Outdoor Learning Spaces Coordinator
Sarah Rodgers joined the Office of Sustainability team on March 1 as our Outdoor Learning Spaces Coordinator.
In this role, Sarah will work in close collaboration with campus partners and subject matter experts to provide and develop opportunities for sustainability-focused learning on our campus.
Sarah moved to Winston-Salem from Missoula, Montana, where she was a school garden manager and farm-based educator. Drawing on her extensive horticultural knowledge and experience, she will maintain existing learning spaces, such as the Campus Garden, and develop new outdoor spaces that offer opportunities for campus-based learning, engagement, and research for sustainability.
Sarah earned a BA in environmental studies from Saint Michael’s College, where she focused on justice and sustainability, and a Master’s in environmental studies from the University of Montana.
In Wake Forest’s strategic framework, we are called to become a recognized national model for “innovation in curricular, co-curricular, experiential learning, and personal and professional development.”
We are thrilled to have Sarah on our team to be part of that innovation, expanding outdoor spaces for engaged and experiential learning on our campus through collaboration with faculty and staff partners.
