Are you a faculty or staff member interested in getting your hands in the dirt this summer? Looking for a mid-day break from your computer? Come out to the Campus Garden (1141 Polo Road) for WFU faculty and staff volunteer hours in June, July, and August. Volunteer hours will be on select Tuesdays at varying times throughout the summer to accommodate different schedules. Come alone or bring along a colleague. Feel free to stay for ten minutes or the whole session!
- June 11 from 11:00am – 1:00pm
- June 25 from 3:00 – 5:00pm
- July 16 from 11:00am – 1:00pm
- July 30 from 3:00 – 5:00pm
- August 13 from 11:00am – 1:00pm
- August 20 from 3:00 – 5:00pm
Work alongside fellow faculty and staff while you pull weeds, harvest various crops, and enjoy summer weather in the Campus Garden. After volunteering, take home some fresh fruits and veggies! Volunteers will be provided with any needed tools, gloves, and guidance; no gardening or farming experience necessary.
Please bring a water bottle and a reusable bag for bringing produce/flowers home! We have sunscreen, water, and a bathroom at the Campus Garden. If the days and times don’t work in your schedule but you are still interested in volunteering, email Garden Coordinator Sarah Rodgers (rodgers@wfu.edu) to find a time that works for you!
