FAQ: Reusable to-go containers
Q. Wait, there’s no Styrofoam in the Reynolda Fresh Food Company? How am I supposed to take food to-go from the Pit?
A. You heard right. In 2009, as a university community, we disposed of over 7,000 foam to-go containers each week. Starting in the fall of 2010, we made the green reusable to-go containers mandatory, which means an extra step for you, but much less Styrofoam in our landfills.
When you need to grab a meal to go, simply purchase a green to-go container at Green Scene Express or North Dining Hall. Once you finish your meal, bring your dirty container back to either dining facility and exchange it for a new container. All containers will be washed and sterilized by dining services staff.
