Kick off the 13 Days of Celebrating the Earth by attending one (or more) of our exciting activities on April 14.

Think Green Thursday

When: 10:45am-12:15pm
Where: Magnolia Patio

Pick up your 13 Days t-shirt and a full schedule of events. Office of Sustainability interns will be on hand to pass out t-shirts and answer questions about the 13 Days and the Arbor Day Celebration.

Local Food Day

When: All day

Where: Reynolda Fresh Food Company

In a campus-wide kickoff supporting sustainability and food justice issues, the Pit will be serving food from a variety of local vendors all day long, so remember to stop by for a fresh meal.

Cardboard Boat Race

When: All day (pick up supplies and start building between 8:00am-1:00pm)

Where: Pick up supplies in Parking Lot M; Race in Reynolda Pool

Do you love a creative challenge? Join the first ever Cardboard Boat Race, sponsored by Campus Recreation and the Office of Sustainability. The challenge is simple: using only cardboard and duct tape, construct a boat to paddle across the Reynolda Pool. Awards include best looking boat and best sink.

StArt Gallery Opening – Green. It’s not just a color, it’s a movement.

When: 6:00pm-8:00pm

Where: WFU Student Art (StArt) Gallery in Reynolda Village (next to Simplyummy Café)

Enjoy the opening reception of the exhibition, Green. It’s not just a color, it’s a movement. The exhibition features student artwork created to voice interpretations of environmental consciousness through the use of reclaimed materials. Light refreshments, including locally brewed beer, will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition runs from April 14 – May 16, 2011.
